Mobile Bar Units for The Venue
This week is going to be an exciting one at Kamp Studio!
I am rounding out a project of 4 mobile bar units for an Asheville, NC event destination called The Venue.
Check their website out at http://www.thevenueasheville.biz/
Made from cherry, maple and aluminum each bar unit is on wheels and has a maple curved front and top "floating" on aluminum pins. Look for pics throughout the week and early next week as I finish this project up!

Robb

Handmade in America: Focus on Furniture
In conjunction with the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design exhibition "Are Chairs Just for Sitting?" Handmade in America is showcasing the work of all of the furniture makers involved in an exhibition called Focus on Furniture!
Focus on Furniture opened May 5 and continues through August 14 2009.
Handmade in America is located in downtown Asheville, NC at the new Lexington Station behind the Orange Peel Social and Pleasure Club! Check out this link for more information and directions to the exhibition.
http://www.handmadeinamerica.org/focusonfurniture/
The pieces I have in the exhibition are shots from both the past and present of my furniture making career... the Slingshot Lady Bug Table is a whimsical and colorful sculpted basswood and plywood table I finished with acrylic paint in 2005.
The second is a recent piece, the Biernbaum Jewelry Armoire, made from sapele and maple and featuring some wonderful curved laminations. I am very excited about this piece and being able to show it so soon after its creation!
Please check out the show and let me know what you think about some of my new creations and the work of my fellow WNC furniture makers! And help to support local artists and the amazing art they are making...

Kamp Studio Launches Website!
Thanks for checking out the new Kamp Studio Website... www.kampstudio.com We went live with it over the last few days. A few months in the making. Well actually 5 or 6 years if you count all of the work that will be seen on the site. There is a great photo gallery hosted by www.flickr.com and a blog hosted by Blogger. Both can be accessed through the main website and will be constantly changing and evolving with pictures, blogging, information and news from the Kamp Studio world I have created. Thanks to Matt Paden and Lucky Design Studios who helped to put the site together.
